Businesses are made and run by families. Purefresh
Organic was born out of a concern about the well being of our loved
ones, and how what we do here and now is going to affect our children,
our children's children, and the place where we live.
Jeffery Turner - Chairman,
and Peter Turner - Managing Director
Peter and Jeffrey's family have been in the produce industry for
400 odd years only, in England first and then in New Zealand since
the 1880s! They set up Purefresh Organic after they realized that
the only way to grow the industry was by selling organics through
supermarket outlets. Thanks to them more and more New Zealanders
are enjoying the benefits of a chemical free diet every day .
Anna Aloma - Purefresh General
Manager
Anna came to NZ from Spain in the early 1990s following a kiwi.
She raised two beautiful girls, learnt what the word "organic"
meant, and went back to University where she got a Post Graduate
Diploma in Environmental Management. After pestering her future
boss for weeks, she finally got her dream job at Fresh Direct, selling
organic fruit and veges to supermarkets against all odds, all by
herself until somebody took pity on her.
Rob Quinn - Purefresh Trading
Manager
Rob was joined the team in 2001 to help with the operational side
of the business. He has a first class honours degree in Geography,
three beautiful girls, and the patience of a saint. He got infected
with the organic bug and has been going crazy buying organics
from Kaitaia to Invercargill 12 hours a day to supply our ever
increasing customer base.
Alex Ghisleni - Sales Representative
Alex was dragged away from her kitchen and catering business some
time ago to help promote organic produce all over the country. She's
been visiting supermarket stores ever since, making sure organics
get their fair share of shelf space, while she still cooks for her
two children Sasha and Cosimo, and her Italian husband Fabio.
She is also the best Fijian skier you will ever meet!
Steve Wylie - Manager South
Island
Steve Wylie learnt about organics the hard way, market gardening
organic fruit and veges for two years after he finished his Bachelor
of Resource Science at Lincoln University. He then decided to set
up his own wholesaling business servicing cafes, hotels, and health
food shops, which he did single handedly for a few more years. When
we invited him to to join us as South Island Purefresh Organic Manager
he didn't have to think about it, 'cos as he said, it's so much
more fun when you do it with someone. He lives in the beautiful
Canterbury countryside with his partner, dogs, and vege patch.
